Good boat handling skills to include station-keeping for extended periods of time and experience in navigating Pacific Ocean from San Diego, CA to Seattle, WA is preferred. Captain/Mates will assist in leading vessel charters for technical exercises and science expeditions, to include supporting Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV) operations and other sea/subsea vehicles/watercrafts. Candidates are expected to manage/assist a crew of 10, work well with others and have good Company/Client interaction skills. 5 years’ experience in Master/Chief Mate/Mate position preferred but not required.

Active DoD secret clearance is benefit to the position.

Key Details:

-500/1600 Ton Master Oceans or Chief/1st/2nd/3rd Mate- (STCW Preferred)

-ARPA/ECDIS (boat dependent)

-Work Rotation: Approximately 6 Weeks on/off (dependent on operations)

-Full Day Rate coming/going + Travel expenses covered

-Day Rate depending on experience/license/performance

  DUTIES OF THE JOB

Responsible For:

1. Using and maintaining deck department stores, spares and equipage.

2. Identifying and reporting needed repairs, accomplishing the repairs and testing the repairs as directed.

3. The operation and maintenance of all vessel's deck gear.

4. The operation and maintenance of vessels, deck and equipment.

5. The operation, maintenance, testing and instruction in use of the vessel's firefighting and lifesaving equipment.

6. Maintenance of the vessel’s coating systems and cleanliness of the vessel spaces.

7. Maintenance and, as directed, the instruction of all aspects of marlinespike seamanship.

8. Assists the ship’s officers in the development, training and execution of all emergency drills and procedures.

9. Crane Operations and Rigging Knowledge required. Training will be provided for vessels’ equipment.

10. Assist mobilization / demobilization of vessel and client equipment.
